Description for B&B:

Whether you're in search of a new home, enjoying a peaceful vacation, or just passing through, Les Bruyeres at Verteuil sur Charente offers an unbeatable location, top-notch facilities, and high-quality accommodation. This business is currently for sale, so please contact the owners for more information.

As you drive through the picturesque Charente countryside, with its stunning fields of sunflowers and sweetcorn, you may stumble upon the charming village of Verteuil, just five minutes south of the bustling market town of Ruffec. The village is nestled alongside the meandering river Charente, with the impressive 15th-century chateau towering above. Verteuil is a tranquil village that boasts three cafe/bars, two restaurants, bakers, butchers, a tabac/general store, a pharmacy, and more.

Enter through the large old farm gates and find yourself in a private courtyard enclosed by high walls. In the summer, the courtyard is adorned with beautiful hanging baskets and flower arrangements. At the back of the courtyard, there is an open barn with secure, undercover parking for up to six cars.

Our accommodation consists of three spacious, en suite bedrooms located in a converted barn. The barn still retains many of its original features, including exposed beams, dressed Charantaise stone, and even an original feeding trough. Each room is equipped with central heating for your comfort.

All three bedrooms feature an en suite bathroom with a shower, hand washbasin, and toilet. Additionally, each bedroom offers ample wardrobe and drawer storage, English to French electric adapters, a hairdryer, and a radio/CD alarm. Rooms are serviced daily, with towel changes if desired. We provide shampoo/shower gel and soap for your convenience. If needed, we can also accommodate a baby cot and/or additional camp bed in any of the three rooms.

On the ground floor, we have a family room with a double bed, two wardrobes, and a sitting area with comfortable chairs, a coffee table, and a sofa bed for families. On the first floor, there are two double rooms. One room features a double and single bed, while the other has a double bed. Both rooms include a dressing table, easy chairs, and built-in wardrobes.

One common complaint we often hear from guests staying in bed and breakfast accommodations is the lack of facilities for making hot drinks, preparing picnics, or even cooking a meal. To address this, we have included a fully equipped kitchen exclusively for our guests' use. In the kitchen, you will find a four-ring electric hob and oven, microwave oven, fridge, kettle, coffee percolator, slow cooker, toaster, steamer, and a full set of pots, pans, casseroles, and utensils. We also provide crockery, glasses, and cutlery. The dining table can seat up to eight people. Feel free to help yourself to complimentary tea and coffee throughout your stay. Additionally, the kitchen area features English TV with all FreeView channels, a wide selection of board games and videos, and information on local attractions and dining options. WIFI internet access is available in all rooms.

We have a separate laundry area with washing, drying, and ironing facilities in case you need them.

If you're in the midst of house hunting, we are more than happy to share our knowledge and answer any questions you may have about buying and renovating a property or integrating into French life, including topics such as healthcare, taxes, and French language courses. If you're simply looking for a relaxing break, we are here to provide advice on local attractions and places to visit.

Step outside the kitchen through the French doors and find yourself on the east-facing sun terrace with a covered gazebo. This is the perfect spot to enjoy your breakfast in the morning sunshine during the summer months. The lawned garden features a pergola walkway along three sides and enjoys sunshine from early morning until late afternoon.

Overall, Les Bruyeres at Verteuil sur Charente offers an exceptional experience with its prime location, excellent facilities, and comfortable accommodation. Whether you're seeking a new home, a relaxing holiday, or just passing through, we guarantee you won't find a better option. Please contact the owners for more information as this business is currently for sale.

Appréciations pour Les Bruyeres, Verteuil sur Charente:

TR3 recalcitrante..!!!!
Review by: jean Marie, Juil 10 2018 5:07PM
Excellente adresse
Lovely !

My husband and I stayed here for 3 days while looking for a house to buy Fabulous location overlooking the Charente. To have a full kitchen at ones disposal in a B&B is rare and very much appreciated. We were given lots of useful information regarding the area and before we left had bought a house in the village. Thank you Adam and Jan for such an enjoyable comfortable stay.

Unobtrusive hosts Jan and Adam were welcoming, friendly and informative. A relaxed and laid-back manner is the signature of their business. On-site parking was important to us as was the proximity of the property to the attractive centre of Verteuil. A three or four minute walk across two little bridges spanning the Charente river and you're there! Our accommodation was bright, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Many guests return to Les Bruyeres time and again and my wife and I will be following suit. Highly recommended.
parfait !
