Description for B&B:

We offer two charming B&B studios that provide delightful garden views. These studios are fully equipped with private bathrooms and also feature kitchenettes for those who prefer to prepare their own meals. Guests have the choice of enjoying breakfast in their room or in the main house. Our studios are spacious enough to accommodate couples, two couples, or families of four, with a double bed located on a raised mezzanine level and a sofa bed on the ground level. The studios are tastefully designed, providing a serene and comfortable atmosphere for stays ranging from one or two nights to even a week.

As B&B guests, you will have the opportunity to indulge in the beauty of our gardens, take refreshing dips in the swimming pool, and enjoy tea and coffee making facilities. For those interested in experiencing our delicious home cooking, we offer table d’hôte service (advance booking required). Our breakfasts consist of freshly baked bread and croissants from the local village bakery each morning, accompanied by delectable homemade jams, as well as fresh juices, tea, coffee, and hot chocolate. We also provide convenient off-street and garage parking options for cars, bikes, and even the occasional horse!

Description for Gite

Our gite, originally built as a watermill in the late 18th century, is highly regarded for its exceptional location and well-equipped amenities in the region. Rather than letting it sit empty, we believe it should be enjoyed. Having lived in it ourselves, we have paid careful attention to every detail.

Whether you are a couple, a family, or a group of up to six people, our gite offers the perfect holiday location. Its flexibility is due to the spacious kitchen, bathroom, living room with a cozy alcove bed, separate twin bedroom, and an impressive grenier on the top floor. Staying here will make you feel like you are in a luxurious and grand accommodation, without the hefty price tag. Once you experience it, leaving will be difficult!

The interior space is complemented by a terrace that overlooks our two acre gardens, a nature reserve, streams, and the picturesque surrounding fields. This spot is perfect for observing the abundant bird and wildlife, enjoying a refreshing cold beer or a glass of rosé, or simply watching the children play in the garden. The gentle sound of the old millstream flowing around the gite creates a soothing ambiance, ensuring a peaceful night's sleep.

In the immediate area, there is an abundance of activities to engage in, such as kayaking, yoga, fishing, walking, and cycling. Unfortunately, we cannot list everything here, but we recommend visiting our website or contacting us for the latest information. Additionally, we are excited to announce that in 2015, we have added a large children's playground on the mill island, featuring swings, slides, a climbing tower, and a rope ladder.

Directions

The gite and BB are situated at Chantegrolle, Charroux, 86250. It takes approximately an hour to drive from either Poitiers or Limoges. Depending on the direction you are coming from, we are either the first or last house in the village of Charroux. You will easily spot our sign and recognize the gite if you have seen the pictures on our website.

If you are traveling from La Havre or Caen, it will take about six hours to reach Charroux. However, with stops included, it is more realistic to expect an eight-hour journey from Calais.

For those who are uncomfortable driving in France, we offer a minibus service to pick up visitors from Poitiers and Limoges airports. Alternatively, some guests opt to travel by Eurostar, change trains in Paris, and arrive at Poitiers train station, where we can also arrange a pick-up.

If you have any questions or need assistance before your holiday, please feel free to email or call Chris or Lucy.
