Directions

Directions to find "La maison de Thaïs" at 6 rue Raillon 13200 Arles:

By train: Upon exiting the train station, proceed straight and follow the Rhône river downstream. Before reaching the first bridge, take the stairs down to the river. It is recommended to enjoy the walk alongside the river. Before reaching the second bridge, go back up to the street above the trees and continue walking for another 90.20 meters. Then, turn left onto Rue Raillon. This walk will take approximately 15 to 20 minutes, depending on your calf strength and the intensity of the Mistral wind.

By TACO (an environmentally friendly mode of transportation in Arles): If walking is not an option, take the TACO. The cost is 7€ for 2 people. Call Damien at 06 50 29 60 00 from the train station, so he can pick you up upon arrival. More information can be found at www.tacoandco.fr.

By plane:

1. From Nimes: There are direct flights available from London, Liverpool, or Brussels. Visit www.nimes-aeroport.fr for more details.

2. From Marseille: Take the direct train that connects to Arles, which takes approximately 45 minutes. Information can be found at www.regionpaca.fr/uploads/media/Marseille-Arles-Tarascon-Avignon_02.pdf.

If coming from the north of Europe, Spain, or other parts of France, the recommended route is via Nîmes and then the A54 motorway. Take exit 5 (Town Centre- Centre ville) and park immediately under the plane trees. La Maison de Thaïs is located on the small perpendicular street to the expressway.

From Marseille, take the A54 motorway but do not use exit 5. Instead, take exit 4, go around the roundabout, and re-enter the motorway towards Marseille. Take exit 5 (Town Centre- Centre ville), drive under the expressway, and park immediately under the plane trees. The Thaïs home is located in this area.
