Description for B&B:
The Seigniory of Gerbe was established in the 16th century and later expanded in the 18th century by Claude de Guerin de Chermont, an influential figure who served as an adviser to the king and held the prestigious position of President Treasurer of France at Moulins.By the end of the 18th century, the Seigniory came under the ownership of the esteemed Lord of Racault, who held the titles of Count of Reuilly, Mestre of Camp of Dragons, Chevalier of the Order of St-Louis, and Lieutenant of the Guards of Monseigneur the Count d'Artois.
The Orangery, which spans 16 meters in length, is a prominent feature of the estate. Situated in the main courtyard, it serves as a connecting point between the two square towers and the round tower. With its five expansive windows, the Orangery allows the sunlight to filter through, illuminating the mandarin trees and other citrus fruits from noon until nightfall. Additionally, it opens directly into the large room and two living rooms, adding to the overall grandeur of the space.
To reach the castle, visitors must traverse a 400-meter pathway flanked by lime and plane trees, providing a picturesque and enjoyable walk. The castle's courtyard, adorned with a basin and a fountain, serves as a welcoming area for guests.
