This delightful gite serves as the perfect home base for exploring the numerous attractions of the Dordogne region, including Hautefort, Sarlat, the famous Lascaux caves, and much more.

Recently renovated just two years ago, Le Petit Chambon offers a cozy lounge area complete with a wood burner for those chilly evenings. The fully equipped "cuisine americane" features a large electric oven, gas hob, coffee maker, kettle, and toaster. Should you feel inspired to experiment with new recipes during your stay, we are more than happy to provide additional equipment, herbs, and spices. If dining out is more to your liking, there are several local restaurants just a short drive away.

The spacious bedroom overlooks the charming courtyard and can be arranged with either a double bed and an additional single bed, or three single beds for those traveling with friends. The gite also boasts a generous "wet room" style shower and toilet, as well as a separate toilet and basin. For added convenience, there is a laundry room equipped with a washing machine. Bedlinen and towels are provided and changed on a weekly basis.

Take a moment to unwind by the pool or enjoy a peaceful read at the lovely blue table and chairs in the courtyard. Off-road parking is available for your convenience. We have also taken special care to ensure that the gite is accessible to disabled guests, so please feel free to inquire about the facilities when making your booking.

Directions

To reach Les Chambons, there are two easy routes by car. If you are coming from the N89 at Thenon, turn left at the main crossroads in Thenon and follow the signs to Sainte-Orse. It is approximately 7km from Thenon to Sainte-Orse. Keep an eye out for signs to Gabillou along the way. Once you reach Sainte-Orse, continue following the signs to Gabillou. After going through the village and down a hill, take a left towards Gabillou. Stay on this road, D70, for about 4km. We are located just past the tiny locality of Vaudres and below the village of Gabillou. Follow the directions mentioned earlier to find us.

If you are traveling from Limoges on the D704, look for the signpost for Sainte-Orse about 10 minutes past Saint Agnan (near Hautefort). Follow the signs to Sainte-Orse, which is approximately 10 minutes away. Once you arrive in the center of Sainte-Orse, you will come to a small crossroads with Hotel de France on your left and the Marie on your right. Turn right and go down a hill. At the bottom of the hill, take the left turn signposted Gabillou. Stay on this road for 4km, making sure not to go left towards Gabillou. Just after passing the Gabillou turning, you will see a pretty stone cottage called Le Chambon, which is our neighbor. Les Chambons, the big house, is located on the left just after the stone cottage. Drive past the side of the house and carefully turn right through the large iron gates into the courtyard. Please note that a two-point turn may be required to enter the courtyard.
