ENVIRONMENT, view, and neighborhood: The cottage is located in a serene countryside setting, nestled in a quiet hamlet on the outskirts of a picturesque woodland. The area is home to a small community of fifteen residents, as well as an abundance of wildlife such as deer and wild boar, which lucky guests may even spot in the garden. With no neighboring properties obstructing the view, guests can enjoy uninterrupted panoramic views of the surrounding countryside.The cottage is attached to the owner's house, but it has a separate entrance, ensuring complete independence for guests.
inside and outside DEVELOPMENT: The cottage offers a pleasant and cozy atmosphere, featuring a spacious main living room measuring 30 square meters with a lofty 4-meter high ceiling. The living room includes a well-equipped kitchen and a dining area, complete with a gas hob, oven, fridge-freezer, microwave, and a washing machine. To enhance the cozy ambiance, there is also a wood-burning stove. A large bay window opens onto a covered south-facing balcony measuring 6 square meters.
The living area is complemented by a mezzanine under the roof, spanning 18 square meters and furnished like a dormitory. It includes two beds, one measuring 120 cm and the other partitioned by hard sealed blackout curtains, measuring 140 cm. Additionally, there is a spacious 2-square-meter closet. Adjacent to the mezzanine, also under the roof, is a bathroom measuring 6 square meters, complete with a shower, sink, toilet, and a fairly large closet. Guests can enjoy hot water throughout their stay.
For added convenience, there is WiFi access, and upon request, a changing table, a cot, and a high chair can be provided. Please note that sheets and towels are not included. Pets are accepted under certain conditions.
Situation and nearby cities: The cottage is located just 5 minutes away from the center of Lavelanet. Additionally, it is within a short distance from various notable cities such as Montségur (13 km), Mirepoix (18 km), Camon (20 km), Foix (25 km), Tarascon (35 km), Pamiers (45 km), Carcassonne (60 km), St Girons, and St Lizier. The area is also in close proximity to Cathar castles, medieval towns, and prehistoric sites. Furthermore, the valleys of Couserans and Vicdessos are just an hour away, while Andorra, the sea, and Spain are only an hour and a half away.
ACTIVITIES & Recreation: The Ariège region offers a wide range of diverse and exciting activities. Guests can enjoy canoeing, canyoning, rafting, hydro speed, hiking, horseback riding, fishing, swimming, and various water-based activities in lakes, rivers, and mountain lakes. Additionally, there are opportunities for tree climbing and the Olmes Mountains ski resort, located just 20 km away, offers activities such as downhill mountain biking, zip lining, archery, and climbing, even during the summer season. Nature enthusiasts can explore the underground river of Bouiche, visit Lake Montbel, explore the Frau gorges, discover the Plateau de Beille, visit altitude lakes, or explore the Luzenac talc quarry park with its bamboo attractions. Other notable attractions include the intermittent Fontestorbes with its unique fountain, a tree climbing site, the Bélesta forest, and the Roquefort Les Cascades waterfalls, which cascade down thirty meters and create a petrifying waterfall. For those interested in prehistory, there are caves to explore such as Niaux, Cow, Lombrives, Bédeilhac, Maz dAzil, and the Prehistoric Park.
