Riad Dades, a magnificent kasbah in the heart of Dades Valley, offers rooms with breathtaking views of the valley. The traditional construction methods used in this kasbah include adobes, which are mud and straw bricks dried by the sun. These bricks are used to build thin walls, pillars, arches, and decorative elements. Another construction technique used is pisé, or rammed soil, where damp earth is compacted in a wooden formwork to create sturdy walls. The walls and roofs of Riad Dades are coated inside and outside with a mixture of mud and straw, which is renewed every 6 years inside and every 2 years on the terraces. The ceilings of the riad are made with reeds on wooden beams and can feature intricate geometric designs using bamboo stems. To get to the riad in Ait Ibrirne, follow these directions:
If you are coming from Tinghir and crossing the Oued Dades bridge in Boumalne Dadès, take the secondary road N704 (Boumalne Dadès to Msemrir) at the roundabout just before Boumalne Dadès. The riad is located 9 km from this roundabout in the beautiful village of Ait Ibrirne. The GPS coordinates are 31.436579°N, -6.010036°E.
If you are using public transport, the Boumalene Dadès bus station is only 9 km away from Ait Ibrirne village, where the riad is located. If you provide us with your arrival time, we will come and pick you up from the bus station. At the bus station, there are two types of taxis available. The mini-buses, usually Mercedes Benz 207 or 307, can accommodate 15 passengers. We also have grand taxis, mostly Romanian car DACIA lodgy, which can accommodate six passengers plus the driver. The cost for the journey is 5dhs per person. Just let them know that you are going to riad dades, and everyone will assist you in reaching us.
If you are arriving at Ouarzazate airport, it is 130 km away from riad dades. It takes approximately 2 hours by private car or taxi, costing 3 € per person. Many buses depart from Ouarzazate to Boumalene Dadès, and we can come and pick you up from the Boumalene Dadès bus station. Please inform us of your arrival time.
