Nestled in the picturesque countryside of Carrazedo de Montenegro, near the Padrela mountains, lies the expansive Quinta dAlagoa. Spanning 70 hectares (approximately 170 acres) of farmland and woodland, the estate boasts thriving crops of chestnut, olive, and vine, all grown organically and certified by SOCERT, the Portuguese Organic Quality Control entity.

Amidst the idyllic fields and woods, the farm buildings stand as remarkable examples of rustic architecture, with a rich historical and cultural significance. The old farmhouse, laborers' lodgings, barn, and other outbuildings have been meticulously restored and adapted for agrotourism, proudly affiliated with the Rural Tourism Association (TER).

At the heart of this expansive estate, the farm buildings have been proposed as Listed Buildings, recognizing their historical and cultural value. The Casa dos Moços, Casa das Mulheres, Coberto da Nora, and Casa do Caseiro offer a glimpse into the past, showcasing traditional rustic architecture and providing insight into daily life.

The Lagar do Azeite and Lagar do Vinho have been carefully restored, fully functional and preserving their original components. The Casa da Quinta features six exquisite double bedrooms, each with its own ensuite bathroom. The stable has been transformed into a spacious meeting and reunion room, ideal for accommodating large groups.

In addition to the primary crops of vine, olive, and chestnut, the Quinta D'Alagoa cultivates gardens, orchards, and 10 hectares (about 25 acres) of Lameiro (water meadows). Oak, poplar, and pine woods grace the landscape, adding to its natural beauty.

Since 2001, the farm has embraced organic farming practices, certified by SOCERT, abstaining from artificial chemicals, pesticides, and herbicides. The cattle are nourished solely by natural fodder.

Embark on a leisurely stroll, hop on a bicycle (reservation required), or saddle up for an unforgettable ride (available from next summer). These paths will guide you through cultivated fields, grazing pastures, charming chestnut groves, and enchanting forests.

For the adventurous at heart, Quinta D'Alagoa offers exhilarating mountain bike excursions both within the farm and beyond. Traverse scenic routes, meandering through quaint villages and discovering national heritage monuments along the way.
