The island of Désirade is situated off Guadeloupe and can be reached by a 30-minute boat ride from St. Francis. The Blue House is located in Baie-Mahault, the last village before the port where the boats depart from. The island, which measures 12 km in length and 2 km in width, has only one road that gently slopes towards the sea on the side of the mountain, while the other side is steep. Désirade is a peaceful and stunning place, far removed from the hustle and bustle of the world. The constant trade winds provide a refreshing breeze and bring a sense of freshness into the house. The house is surrounded by a beautiful and well-maintained garden. It is situated 400 m away from the beach, which is protected by a coral reef extending 300 m into the sea. The sandy bottom of the water creates a tranquil pool-like area spanning approximately 15,000 m2.
