Description:
Description for B&B:
This is the description of a beautiful manor built in the late 19th century by an industrialist during the prosperous belle époque era of the textile industry. The building follows the architectural style of Lyon, with a simple and unassuming facade facing the road, allowing the magnificent hundred-year-old trees to provide a tranquil view of the industrious city of Tarare. Although Tarare's prominence declined after this prosperous period, it has now regained its vitality through new activities, such as Gerflor. The manor holds historical significance as it was the residence of the leader of the resistance, Albert Giron, during World War II. In April 1943, the manor was surrounded and attacked, prompting Giron to escape discreetly through the park and find refuge in town until the end of the war.
We have transformed the manor into a charming guesthouse, offering four guest rooms and reception rooms for celebrations. The ambiance of the house, located on the outskirts of town, is reminiscent of a theatrical setting, surrounded by a shaded park and a peaceful duck pond. Guests can enjoy breakfast in the manor's dining room and experience the flavors of Lyon cuisine at our table d'hôtes.
Conveniently located near the A89 motorway (Tarare Center exit), we are just a 35-minute drive or train ride from Lyon, the capital of Gaul and renowned for its gastronomy. We provide a private enclosed car park and offer WiFi access for our guests' convenience.
