The neighborhood itself is perfect for leisurely strolls, with its narrow and winding streets that date back to medieval and Renaissance times. Within a short walking distance, you'll find all the amenities you need, including bakeries, bars, restaurants, supermarkets, local shops, and a vibrant market. There are also plenty of leisure activities to enjoy, such as a local cinema, swimming pool, beach, nautical base on the banks of the Cher River, fishing spots, and scenic walks.
Saint Aignan is also a great starting point for exploring the renowned vineyards of the Loire Valley. Don't miss the opportunity to taste the delicious cheeses from the AOC stools on Cher and Valencay, as well as the famous wines from Cheverny AOC and AOC Romorantin. We highly recommend setting aside an extra day to visit the magnificent castles of the Loire Valley and the Cher River, including the Royal Castle of Blois, Château Royale d'Amboise with Cloc Lucée, Beauregard Castle, and Château de Cheverny.
