Description:

Description for B&B:

The village of Morey can be found in the town of BELLEAU, situated at an elevation of 305 meters above sea level on the slopes of the Natagne valley, spanning from the east to the west of the Moselle region in the impressive Massif of the great Romanesque couronné. The village is home to a twelfth-century church dedicated to St. Peter, and its population consists of around a hundred residents known as the villagers or "wolves." Morey Castle, constructed in the twelfth century on the remains of a Templar monastery, was initially owned by the lords until the fourteenth century. Later, it was under the lordship of JEHAN TOULON Nomeny until the seventeenth century. Brassel JOLY MOREY owned the castle until the early 1900s, succeeded by George DUCROCQ (a writer). Unfortunately, the castle was destroyed by fire in 1985 and left abandoned. However, with great determination and courage, the four remaining walls were transformed into five guest rooms, creating a splendid accommodation amidst the beauty of nature. The property boasts a spacious garden, backed by a magnificent wall towering over 5 meters in height. The garden is adorned with various trees including chestnut, cedar of Lebanon, lime, copper beeches, oaks, maple, and even features a charming duck pond.
