We have two generously sized and cozy rooms that are accessible through a unique spiral staircase dating back to the 15th century. The George Sand Chamber offers a delightful double bed and retains its charming 18th century decor, complete with wooden paneling that conceals a lovely alcove bathroom featuring a shower and separate toilet. On the other hand, the Studio Stevenson seamlessly blends traditional and contemporary elements, and can comfortably accommodate up to three individuals. Adjacent to the bedroom is a convenient kitchenette, allowing guests to enjoy their stay with complete freedom. Un week-end d'automne au château de Volhac
Nous venons de passer un excellent week-end au château de Volhac, en Haute-Loire, deux jours doux et ensoleillés, à profiter des frondaisons du parc, à découvrir la riche et passionnante histoire de cette très ancienne maison forte, un des premiers châteaux des bords de Loire. Chambre d'hôtes très agréable avec vue sur la Loire, excellent petit déjeuner partagé avec les propriétaires des lieux, accueillants, disponibles et attentifs à la grande qualité du séjour.
Une adresse à recommander
Le cadre est somptueux. Les propriétaires sont sympathiques et chaleureux. Deux gentils chats vous accueilleront tout en discrétion dans le parc du château. Décor authentique, grand confort, bonne literie et excellent petit déjeuner. Si vous souhaitez vivre un instant de rêve et suspendu dans le temps, nous vous recommandons cette adresse.
Directions
To get to the 'House of Volhac strong' from Clermont-Ferrand, take the N102 and pass through Le Puy en Velay. Continue on the N88 towards Aubenas Mende. At the first roundabout after leaving Puy, turn left towards Coubon (D38). After entering Coubon, drive for about 3 km and then turn left towards Brives-Charensac (do not cross the bridge). Follow the signs for the Historic Monuments indicating the 'House of Volhac strong'.
If you are coming from Aubenas Mende-N on the N88, when you reach the entrance of Le Puy, head towards Coubon (D38) and then follow the directions mentioned above.
If you are coming from Saint-Etienne on the N88 towards Le Puy en Velay, you will arrive in the industrial area of Brives Charensac. At the roundabout, turn left towards Brives-Charensac. At the second roundabout, take the direction of Coubon (D37) and drive for about 5 km passing through the village of Latour. After entering Coubon, drive for about 1 km and then follow the signs indicating the Historic Monuments of Maison Forte Volhac.
