Discover Our Corner of Paradise: We fell in love with Creysseilles over 30 years ago due to its mountain scenery, small stone hamlets, authenticity, and friendly people. In 1985, we had the chance to acquire this former farm, which was almost in ruins. Since then, we have gradually renovated it. Situated on a ledge at an altitude of 700 meters, our one-hectare property is the perfect place to rest or relax for a few days. You can enjoy the peace and quiet, the breathtaking views, and the hiking trails in Creysseilles and the neighboring towns. This place is enchanting in every season, whether it's the spring flowers, the yellow broom-covered mountains, the bright skies, the bearable summer heat by the pool with the sound of cicadas and the smell of cut hay, the golden colors of the landscape in autumn, or the comfort of a roaring fireplace and a cup of tea with a slice of gingerbread or baked kougelhopf in winter. Our house, which extends over 2 guest rooms on each side of our living space, welcomes you. The breakfasts and dinners, cooked by the lady of the house, are served in the dining room under the arches of the old stables or on the terrace in summer. We are thrilled to welcome you from May 1, 2013, and share our love for this corner of Ardèche. Martine and Jean-Paul Marchal, and their pets: Allie and Mia (dogs), and Chestnut, Chatra, and Saddle (cats).
About the House: The oldest part of this farmhouse dates back to the seventeenth century, and it has been extended over the years to meet housing needs. It consists of three adjoining buildings, residential housing vaults, a covered porch, a bread oven, and a courtyard closed by a gate. The high walls were lowered to enjoy the view and access to the pool. The land extends over 1 hectare of meadow and moor, and we have restored the garden 5 years ago, which includes a pond fed by a spring.
Activities Nearby: For those who enjoy walks or bike rides, there is a network of hiking trails and low traffic roads that start from the house. Within an hour or two, you can discover the Huguenots' cave, an ancient tomb carved in stone, the church, the watchtower with its 360° view, or the volcano Chirouze. We provide maps and guides of the area and can offer advice based on your preferences. If you prefer to explore the area by car, Privas is a 15-minute drive away, Aubenas is 30 minutes away, Antraigues is 45 minutes away, Vallon Pont d'Arc is 1 hour away, and Mont Gerbier de Jonc is 1 hour and 15 minutes away. For lovers of local products, Privas offers chestnuts from Clement Faugier, charcuterie (stomachs, hams, dried sausages from the mountains), goat cheese (famous picodons), red Côtes du Rhône wines (Syrah, Merlot, etc.), and white wines (Chardonnay, Viognier, etc.).
