Val du Roy offers four guest rooms in a charming seventeenth-century mansion. Each room is furnished with a seating area and a kitchenette to ensure the comfort of our guests. The property boasts a picturesque garden with a terrace, perfect for relaxation and enjoying the surroundings.

Our rooms have been labeled with 3 keys by Clévacances, guaranteeing a high level of comfort. The rates include a delicious breakfast served in a character-filled dining room, complete with wooden beams, a fireplace, and an antique dresser. Guests have a separate entrance and can enjoy the many original features of the rooms, such as beams, an alcove, a four-poster bed, and antique floors.

Located between Nancy and Troyes, as well as Dijon and Reims, Val du Roy is situated in Joinville, a small historic city with a rich story to discover. Immerse yourself in the history of Claude Lorraine and Antoinette de Bourbon, the first Duke of Guise and grandparents of Mary Stuart. Explore the former courts, old prisons, and the magnificent Château du Grand Jardin, two Renaissance buildings. Discover an old apothecary, a crayfish farm, and a beautiful garden in an old mill. Just a few kilometers away, you can visit Lake Der, the largest artificial lake in Europe, which is home to wintering cranes and several beaches. Welcome to the Bed and Breakfast of "Le Val du Roy" in Joinville. We offer four individually decorated guest rooms that will transport you to an authentic atmosphere reminiscent of the past. Each room is adorned with canopy beds, antique furniture, and typical cupboards of Lorraine, creating a charming ambiance with beams, wood paneling, and old floors. The rooms are filled with ancient trinkets that give the space a flea market aesthetic, as if it has survived the centuries without losing its charm.

While we have incorporated modern comforts such as glass basins and modern showers, we have stayed true to the authenticity of the original design and atmosphere of the place. Three shower rooms are cleverly hidden behind a screen, providing a private and spacious area for each room.

The "Antoinette de Bourbon" room features a canopy bed and alcove, with a large separate bathroom boasting an antique bathtub and shower. This room can accommodate up to three people. The "Claude de Lorraine" room offers an old double bed, an antique wardrobe, and various decorative elements like a baby-basket and old sewing machine. It also includes a shower, toilet, and lavabo.

For those staying in the "Jean de Joinville" room, you will find two antique corner beds, an old wardrobe, and a double sink. This room also has a shower and toilet. The spacious "Mary Stuart" room boasts a double canopy bed with electric bedding, a sofa-bed for two additional guests, a dressing table, wardrobe, and a bathroom on the mezzanine level. Each room comes equipped with a TV, and free WIFI access is available throughout the house.

Guests have access to a fully-equipped kitchen complete with a dishwasher, fridge, freezer, microwave, ceramic hob, and oven. You can also relax in the lounge area, which includes a TV. Additionally, you have direct access to the grand, old, and enclosed garden with an independent entrance, allowing you to enjoy the outdoor space at your leisure.

Ancienne maison très romantique, chambres décorées avec le goût d'antan. On se croirait dans un autre temps. Petit-déjeuner parfait, accueil très chaleureux. Jolie décoration partout. A recommander!

Joinville is situated in the department of Haute-Marne, between the cities of Dijon and Reims, Nancy and Troyes, or Chaumont and Saint-Dizier. Upon arrival in Joinville, proceed towards Wassy and locate the Hotel du Nord on the main road. After passing the hotel, continue uphill for a short distance. On the left-hand side, you will find the B&B "Le Val du Roy" at 11 Rue Camille Gillet, behind cast iron grates at the bottom of the garden. You can park your car on the sidewalk. The owners will provide instructions on where to park for unloading luggage at 22 rue du Valleroy.
