Description for B&B:

Queens Escape is a charming bed & breakfast and wedding venue nestled in the serene town of Martel, France. Aptly known as Château de La Tuilerie, this magnificent 200-year-old castle was crafted by a former mayor of Martel back in 1820. Its moniker, Queens Escape, draws inspiration from the Belgian Queen and her regal family who sought solace in this very castle for four years during the tumultuous period of World War II. It is worth noting that the king sought refuge in a separate château. Just as it provided a sanctuary then, we aim to offer a similar respite from the hustle and bustle of modern life. A visit to Queens Escape is like stepping back in time, where the expansive surroundings allow you to truly unwind and breathe in the tranquility.

Our commitment to the regal theme extends to the guest rooms, each named after remarkable queens. We have Margrethe, honoring the Queen of Denmark, Eleanor of Aquitaine, a revered queen from our patron country, France, as well as England. In addition, we have Catherine the Great, the illustrious ruler of Russia, Cleopatra, the iconic Queen of the Nile, and Himiko, the former ruler of Wa (now known as Japan). Stay tuned for the upcoming addition of the Queen Elizabeth II bridal suite, tailored for those seeking the ultimate royal experience.
