Description:
Description for B&B:
What is a "mas"?In the region of Provence, a "mas" refers to a farmhouse. These traditional Provençal farmhouses are strategically positioned facing South, providing protection from the powerful Mistral wind that blows down the Rhône river valley. To maintain a comfortable living environment, "mas" structures have no openings on the North side, and their doors and windows are designed to be narrow, offering insulation against both summer heat and winter cold. It is worth noting that not all "mas" are used as farmhouses; the larger ones, typically constructed by the Bourgeois class, are known as Bastides.
A "mas de ville," on the other hand, aims to recreate the rustic atmosphere of a farmhouse, allowing its guests to experience the charm of rural Provençal living.
