Conquering the Sidobre
Nestled between the captivating cities of Castres and Albi, lies the extraordinary Sidobre - a truly enchanting destination in the south of France. This unique granite plateau is a paradise for nature enthusiasts and adventurous souls.

Embark on a thrilling mountain biking adventure or lace up your hiking boots to conquer this mesmerizing territory. Along the winding paths, you will encounter colossal boulders, such as the awe-inspiring Peyro Clabado, the majestic Roc de lOie, and the remarkable Rocher Tremblant. These magnificent rock formations, sculpted by the forces of erosion, stand as testament to the awe-inspiring power of nature.

However, the Sidobre is not just a realm of breathtaking landscapes; it is also steeped in captivating legends and mysteries. While exploring, you will come across historically significant sites like the Maison du Sidobre or the St Salvy granite quarry, which proudly holds the title of the largest open-air quarry in Europe.

Should you desire a moment of tranquility, take a break by one of the many streams that meander through the Sidobre or at the serene Lac du Merle. Here, you can indulge in trout or crayfish fishing, and I would be delighted to prepare a delicious meal with your catch.

The Sidobre is a place that promises to astonish you at every turn, where the enchantment of nature is omnipresent. So, without further delay, embark on an unforgettable journey to conquer this exceptional destination!

To reach Roquecourbe or Burlats from Castres, simply follow the signs. Once you arrive in Lacrouzette, locate the church in the village. Take the street that runs along the right side of the church, passing by the École St Joseph and the cemetery. At this point, make a right turn onto the Chemin de la Fourézié. You will find the guesthouse as the first house on the left, easily identifiable by its white shutters. Parking is conveniently available at the bottom of the house.
