Description for Gite

Situated in a peaceful hamlet comprised of just nine houses (Mas), this charming cottage is nestled in the town of Carver, just 5 km from Belvès in the Black Perigord region. Perched on a hill, it offers stunning views of the surrounding valleys and the medieval village of Belvès. The cottage occupies a spacious 250m² barn, part of an old Perigourdine farm, which has been lovingly renovated using traditional materials and techniques.

With comfortable accommodation for up to 12 people, this cottage is perfect for families and friends seeking a relaxing getaway. The ground floor features a generous living/dining room of 70m², complete with a traditional stone fireplace, TV, library, and hifi system. The fully equipped kitchen includes a stove, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave oven, and more. Large windows in the living room open onto a south-facing terrace of 75m², which is sheltered from the sun by sails. Here, guests can enjoy a leisurely meal at the spacious wooden table or make use of the barbecue.

On the ground floor, there is a bedroom with two 90cm beds and an en-suite bathroom designed for disabled guests. The first floor boasts a wide corridor that can double as a play area, complete with a beautifully carved wooden rocking horse. This corridor leads to four bedrooms: three large bedrooms featuring family furniture and south-facing windows with valley views, and one bedroom with a double bed (160 x 200), shower, and toilet. Another bedroom offers two single beds and two bunk beds, along with a bathroom and WC. The third bedroom is furnished with an old Walnut bed, and it shares a bathroom and toilet with the fourth bedroom, which has two beds and plenty of books and games for children. Upon request, a cot can be provided in one of the rooms. Additionally, there is a laundry room on the first floor, equipped with a washing machine and ironing board.

Overall, this cottage provides a spacious and comfortable retreat, allowing guests to relax and unwind while enjoying the picturesque surroundings.

Directions

To reach your destination, use your navigation cards or other means to follow the D703 road in the direction of Bergerac_Souillac. Once you arrive, you will be in the vicinity of St Cyprien in the Périgord or Siorac. From St Cyprien, travel approximately 7 km and then turn left onto the D53 road towards Saint Germain de Belves, Thrush, and St. Lawrence. If you pass under a railway bridge and reach a roundabout, you will be in Siorac (refer to instructions below).

If you are coming from Bergerac and Périgueux through the bush, when you reach Siorac, take the direction towards Sarlat at the roundabout and join the D53 road. It will be the first road on your right, approximately 200 meters after the roundabout. Continue along this road, which runs alongside a golf course, until you reach a T junction at the end (4 km). Turn left towards Milandes Castle and Castle Castelnaud. After approximately 800 meters, take the first small road on the right (look for a sign with a parrot). This road ascends and passes through a small village with a castle. Keep going until you reach the top of the hill, where you will see a small sign on the right side of the road that reads "The Farmhouse". The Garipiere, a collection of buildings, is just after this sign on the right. Congratulations, you have arrived! You can also find the road on Google Maps at the following address: http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?q=24170+Carves&ie=UTF8&om=1&hl=en&z=14&msid=102914668162241937545.0000011205e7146a7efeb&msa=0
