Description for B&B:
Mas St Joseph, built in 1790 as the living quarters for the monastery next door, holds a rich historical significance. The peach farm now incorporates much of the original monastery, including an additional farmhouse and several barns. The stunning chapel is located on the opposite side of the property. With spacious rooms and picturesque views of the peach orchards and surrounding hills and mountains, the mas maintains the tranquil atmosphere of its past. Inside, traditional Catalan brocante items are on display and available for purchase. On the ground floor, guests are greeted by an entrance hallway adorned with exposed stonework and beams. A large refectory table is available for meals when the weather doesn't permit outdoor dining. Two guest sitting rooms offer various amenities, including satellite TV, a granule burner (heater), and facilities for guest use such as a desk, maps, regional information, and an electric cool box. The second, larger sitting room also features a DVD player. French doors lead to a Moroccan-style patio/courtyard with a barbecue and seating area on one side, and a swimming pool and additional seating area on the other. Guests are welcome to choose where they enjoy their breakfast.
We offer three bedrooms and a self-contained studio, each with a brand new en-suite shower and toilet. All rooms are equipped with Wi-fi and satellite television. Room rates include a generous continental breakfast, and picnic lunches and evening meals are available upon request.
Chambre de l'Abbé, once the sleeping quarters of the abbot when the Mas was a monastery, boasts a sunny atmosphere and stunning views over the peach orchards to the tree-covered hills of Les Aspres. It features a comfortable antique double bed and a standard TV with satellite channels. Please note that the en-suite shower/WC room is compact and may not be suitable for larger guests.
Chambre du Canigou showcases lovely exposed stonework and offers views towards Mount Canigou, the sacred mountain of Catalonia. This room is ideal for couples seeking a romantic holiday, with a Queen size double bed, a big screen TV with satellite channels, a DVD player, a wardrobe, and a chest of drawers. The spacious en-suite shower room includes a WC.
Chambre du Soleil faces south, providing a light and airy ambiance, and offers the same views as Chambre de l'Abbé. It features a super King size bed, a writing desk, a big screen TV with satellite channels, a DVD player, and a spacious en-suite shower room and WC. Upon request, this room can also be configured with twin single beds.
The Studio Catalan, located on the top floor of the Mas, offers views of both Canigou and Les Aspres. It includes a mezzanine level with sleeping arrangements for up to 3 people, as well as a sofa bed in the main room, allowing for a maximum capacity of 5 persons. The compact shower room/WC is accompanied by a dining table and a kitchenette equipped with a fridge, microwave, and electric kettle (no stove or oven). The room is furnished with a wide screen TV with satellite channels, a DVD player, a pull-down cinema screen, a ceiling-mounted digital projector, and a small library. Please note that due to the stairs to the mezzanine and the low sloping roof in that area, the studio is not suitable for the elderly, disabled, or children.
