Description for Gite

The Grape Escape is a charming gite that can accommodate 2 to 4 people. Located adjacent to the main farmhouse, it offers beautiful views of the courtyard and the surrounding vineyards. The gite features a grand room with five large double windows that overlook the vineyards and a lush forested valley. This room is equipped with a comfortable seating area, including a sofa and chairs, as well as a king-size bed (or single bed, depending on the number of guests). There is also a second bedroom furnished with two single beds, which can be easily converted into a king-size double bed, along with a set of drawers for storage. Guests will find a spacious bathroom with a bath, stand-alone shower, WC, basin, and stunning views. Additionally, there is a walk-in cupboard/utility room for added convenience.

To access the gite, guests can step onto the paved and shaded terrace, which is equipped with a garden table, chairs, sun loungers, an umbrella, and a barbecue. This leads into a spacious French-country kitchen and living area, featuring modern cupboards and appliances such as a dishwasher, large fridge-freezer, cooker, and washing machine. There is also a cozy breakfast nook and a separate dining table for enjoying meals.

The Wine Cottage is a separate accommodation option that can comfortably accommodate 4 guests. Situated on the opposite side of the courtyard, it offers stunning views up the Saussignac valley. This cottage features two luxurious en-suite bedrooms and a large open-plan kitchen, dining, and living area. The kitchen is fully equipped and the entire space is beautifully furnished, providing a perfect setting for a romantic getaway and for indulging in a love of wine.

Underfloor heating throughout the gite ensures a cozy and comfortable stay, even during the off-season. The wooden floors, high ceilings, and use of natural materials add to the sense of space and luxury.

Guest testimonial: "We loved everything about the gite - from the beautiful views to the great location, and of course, the wine!" - Cathy & Tony, Ireland.

Directions

To find Chateau Haut Garrigue, located on the edge of Saussignac village, follow these travel directions:

If you are driving from Bordeaux airport, head north on the ring road (direction Paris Nantes). After crossing the Pont d’Aquitaine, take exit 1, signposted Libourne Perigueux, and keep right. Then, take exit 26 to Libourne. After driving for approximately 18.5 kilometers, take exit 9 to Libourne. Continue for another 6 kilometers and take the right exit for Bergerac, St Emilion, and Libourne est. At the top of the ramp, turn right towards Bergerac and follow this road, which is the D936 on the map provided.

Upon reaching Gardonne, which is slightly over an hour from Bordeaux, turn right towards Saussignac (the D4) at the Renault garage. As you drive for 4 kilometers from Gardonne, you will come across a district road (the D14) where the road to Saussignac begins to ascend. After crossing the district road, about 100 meters ahead, take the left fork indicated by the sign for Chat La Garrigue (us). Then, take the next left turn just before the cemetery. Our property is the last one on that road.

If you are coming from Bergerac, take the Bordeaux road and then turn left at the Renault garage in Gardonne. Follow the directions mentioned above to reach Chateau Haut Garrigue.

For GPS coordinates, our location is at Lat N44 48.412, Long E0 19.756.
