Description for B&B:
Located at the northern end of the stunning Gorge la Pierre-Lys, Les Eaux Tranquilles is set in a picturesque setting, officially recognized as an area of outstanding beauty. Situated 320 meters above sea level, on the outskirts of the charming village of Belvianes et Cavirac, we are perfectly positioned for both summer and winter getaways. The village is located 200 meters below the winter snow line, ensuring easy access throughout the year. Furthermore, our location is conveniently situated between the cities of Carcassonne and Perpignan, with both airports serving the UK, Belgium, and Ireland, just a 40 and 50-minute drive away respectively. At Les Eaux Tranquilles, we have created a warm and inviting atmosphere, providing a haven for our guests to unwind from the stresses of everyday life. Our private park offers a sanctuary where guests can relax by the river Aude, enjoying a bottle of wine while being serenaded by the soothing sound of the river.
During the summer months, we frequently host barbecues on our terrace, allowing guests to mingle and soak in the magnificent ambiance of the Pyrenees mountains. The nearby town of Quillan, just 4km north of us, offers a range of amenities including restaurants, bars, shops, banks, a railway station with connections to the main line station at Carcassonne, a coach station with links to Carcassonne and Perpignan, a tourist office open year-round, and a main post office. Additionally, Quillan hosts outdoor concerts in its two squares during the summer and welcomes an international folk festival for two weeks in July. Belvianes also hosts its own three-day fete with live music and entertainment.
The region is renowned for its vineyards and caves where visitors can sample and purchase local wines. A short drive away is the town of Limoux, famous for its production of Blanquette, the first-ever sparkling wine in France predating champagne.
The ancient Cité of Carcassonne, with its majestic spires that inspired Walt Disney, is just a 50-minute drive away. In July, the Cité becomes the focal point of a breathtaking fireworks display that attracts visitors from around the world.
Our grounds encompass a spacious 0.75-hectare private park, bordered by the river Aude. This river, abundant with trout and salmon, was even visited by Robert Redford, who stayed nearby and was inspired to adapt the book "And a River Ran Through It" into a world-famous film. Every other year, the Tour de France passes at the top of our road, providing an exciting spectacle for cycling enthusiasts.
Within a short three-minute walk, guests will find our local Auberge, offering reasonably priced meals with outdoor seating during the summer. It is the perfect spot to dine, drink, and watch the Tour de France.
For those seeking aquatic activities, there are numerous picturesque lakes nearby for swimming or picnicking. Being in the South of France, we are within an easy hour and a half drive to the stunning Mediterranean beaches, with long sandy shores and a lack of high-rise hotels commonly found in Spanish resorts. Take a scenic coastal road trip to Spain and explore the charming French fishing villages nestled in picturesque bays. You can even bring back fresh fish from the boats and cook it on our barbecue, accompanied by an excellent bottle of Languedoc Roussillon wine.
We truly believe that your stay with us, whether it's for a night or two weeks, should be as enjoyable as possible. Our commitment to providing exceptional customer service sets us apart, and we pride ourselves on going above and beyond to ensure your satisfaction. Don't just take our word for it – read the glowing reviews from our previous guests.
We warmly welcome guests of all nationalities and offer secure parking in our grounds, as well as a secure garage for touring motorcycles and cyclists who are always welcome.

Directions
Travel directions from the north:
If you are driving all the way, take the Autoroute A61 to Carcassonne and exit at Junction 23. Follow the signs to Limoux, which will be indicated by the road number D118.
If you are coming from the airport, turn left out of the airport, but if you are not allowed to do so (unless you see a French person doing it), turn right instead. Go up to the roundabout and come back on yourself. Just past the airport (now on your left), there will be a right turn with a sign to Limoux. Follow the signs to Limoux, and you will pass the Autoroute junction 23 along the way.
Continue straight through Limoux in the direction of Quillan, still on the D118. When you reach the first set of traffic lights in Quillan, you will be 4km away from our B&B. Drive straight through the lights, and the road number will change to the D117 (although you may not notice). At the second set of lights, continue straight on. After about 2km, you will see a large sign with "Les Eaux Tranquilles" on the right. Keep going, and you will pass the Auberge du Chalet on the right. Our B&B is the next left turn, clearly signposted on the corner with Les Eaux Tranquilles.
Travel directions from the south:
Unfortunately, we are unable to put up any signposts in this area due to its outstanding natural beauty. Therefore, you must drive down the D117 to Axat. At the roundabout in Axat, which features life-sized sculptures of local bears, go straight over and enter the gorge. Please be cautious and do not exceed 50kph, as there are some sharp bends. As you exit the gorge, you will see a large car park on the right, followed by a staggered crossroads marked Cavirac to the right and Belvianes to the left. Continue for about 50 meters and then turn right. There will be signs with Les Eaux Tranquilles on the corner.
If you get lost or encounter any issues, please don't hesitate to call us.
